SUB)ダイニングテーブルのDIY/メルカリで安く購入した無印のテーブルの塗装リメイク

Hello, my name is Tommy. Today I will introduce a new dining table recently This is the new dining table I’m using now Actually it’s not what I really wanted The dining table I wanted was from a furniture store “standard trade” It’s very simple like this Using solid oak, you can feel the strong grain of wood Very nice calm colors and textures I actually saw it at a store, depending on the viewing angle, the texture of the bark looks different You can feel the details and texture of wood grain, which is the goodness of oak However, the price will be close to 200,000 yen I couldn’t afford to move considering that I would move again in the future So I bought a old used table online auction, and Diy the surface finish I was able to finish the table with a nice atmosphere I will introduce this table briefly The material is solid oak As you can see, the oak tree has a strong grain I complemented the grain and finished in a slightly more subdued color than the natural color And also so that I can feel the texture of the wood by touch, I finished with oil Let’s see how we finished the table Costs will be announced at the end Let’s go! First, buy a base dining table at a online auction I purchased an MUJI solid oak table The point to choose is using “solid wood” The mainstream of cheap furniture is using a thin sheet of wood called a veneer attached to the core material We can’t remake the finishing by ourselves So be sure to check the product tag This is what you purchased There is a description of solid oak on the product tag By the way, the surface painting is pretty bald I purchased the surface treatment without worrying about it because it is a precondition to start over by myself I was lucky to buy it cheaply Then I will peel off this paint Looking at the product tag, it says “lacquer coating” A clear film is on the surface I can’t color anyway, so I’ll peel it off Use a coarse file of 80th to 120th for paint peeling To work efficiency , it is better with a file holder It is recommended to prepare it It is better to avoid cheep sandpaper as it is clogged quickly Let ’s start with the legs of the table After finishing painting the table legs, today’s work is over Since the file has been lost today Go to the home improvement store Then I will peel off this bald lacquer paint This lacquer coating is quite strong This time I chose a finer file than 120 yesterday, It’s hard to come off I’m tired I managed to peel off the paint on the surface of the table Next, I will prepare the surface with a 240 file First from the table legs The feel has become much smoother File the table top in the same way Let’s go along the grain lacquer coating still remains where it looks yellow I’m focusing on that The 240th file is over Watering and sanding the finish to 400 Wipe the table with water after shaving with number 400 Once the water is completely dry, do the 400th file again You can clean the fluff by adding water once This is the end of the file Then I will apply the oil This time I will use the teak color of livos oil “KALDET” I chose this oil because it penetrates the trees and emphasizes the grain But there are various oils in the world WATCO and BRIWAX etc. I think it is better to choose while looking at the coloring sample on the net I will paint it using a waste cloth It is better to apply a little more as it will be wiped off later as to this livos oil After applying, wait about 10 minutes and wipe off any excess oil with a rag Oil the top plate in the same way Yes, the first oil painting is over The grain emerged and became reddish wet it is a good feeling Let it dry for about 12 hours I will do the second oil painting Do this if you want a bit more color Skip if the color is already the same as the image in the first painting Yes, the second oil painting is over The color has become darker and the grain has been emphasized It’s exactly like the image Let it dry for about 24 hours as it is Finally assembled and completed How was that File sanding was a little hard I think it’s a good finish Deep shades and grain that are well-used enough to go with antiques I was able to bring out the texture of such solid oak wood well Comparing before and after diy looks like this By changing Gloss, color, color intensity, and the appearance of the grain, the impression has changed a lot By the way, the cost of this diy was about 12,000 yen This kind of table will costs about 100,000 yen in Tokyo, so it was quite cheap So today I want to do this the end!

  4. 塗装した後、完全に乾いたら、
    表面を茶色のたわしで、
    スリスリスリ〜っと擦ると、両面が滑らかになって艶も出ますよ〜‼️

  5. i like the pale color when you first sanded it… but the final color suits the overall color scheme of your home tho.
I have a big table using for years, and want to sand it and paint it too. It is like giving it a second life! Happy weekend!
