Hello I’m Jennifer with Jennifer
decorates and in this video, I’m going to take you along to the JD’s Christmas
open house so stay tuned. I wanted to take a minute to show you
how I made the bow that we were showing in class today. So you start out how long
do I want the tail to be? That’s kind of my first determining on how to make a
bow and I’m gonna make a loop. One of the tricks to making a boat is the way
you hold the ribbon. Pinch it between your thumb and your first finger. I’ve
made the first loop and I’m going to make the second loop and I’m still
pinching between the two fingers. Another key thing to making a really pretty bow,
is you want to make sure you’re keeping the loops all the same size. So I’ve made
one on the left and make one on the right, checking that my loops are still
the same. One more on the left and one more on the right. Now, the last thing I’m
going to do I’m gonna make a really tiny loop in the middle, pinching it with that
my thumb and my first finger again. Then, I’m gonna take my floral wire, run it up
under that loop, flip your bow over and twist and pull really really tight. You
want your bow to be really tight in the middle and then just twist a couple more
times and the floral wire that I like to use is 18 gauge. It’s a really easy wire
to work with and then I kind of fluff the bow up and this is really why I like
to use wired ribbon because it helps you shape your boat really easily. I’m gonna
lay it down and I’m just going to cut the tails and I’m going to cut them at
an angle. Whoops, it almost fell off the table. One
more, okay and that one got a little sloppy so I’m gonna do it over. And that
is how you make a beautiful bow. Well it has been a really, really fun day.
Tons of people came through, we had a wonderful day playing in glitter. Thank
you so much for watching this video. If you have any questions, leave them in
the comments below. I try to answer everybody’s questions. Please have a
wonderful, safe, and happy holiday. Be sure to subscribe to my channel because I’m
